Dr S M Syed Khalilurrhman from Bhatkal listed among 100 smartest people in UAE

Dr Khalilurrhman, who is fondly and commonly identified by the general public here with the name, ‘C A Khaleel’, belongs to Nawayat community from here. The fact that he has risen to being distinctively endowed with the honour of being one of the most smart persons in the UAE has brought laurels not only for the Nawayat community here, but for Kannadigas and Indians. Khaleel evinces lot of interest and concern in international trade, social service, and education of poor children. He rightfully deserves the honour that has come seeking him.

Being in UAE, Khaleel is involved with business field that has been attuned to serve demands of the modern era. On account of his intelligence and close observational powers, he has grown tremendously in stature, and therefore, has been counted among the 100 most intelligent, clever, and wise persons of UAE. Incidentally, this list has 12 persons of Indian origin, and Khaleel has an outstanding personality because of his diverse interests.

Khaleel Saheb, who went to the Gulf in 1978, on account of his unshaken faith and affection on Galadari family, took Galadari Company to dizzy heights with his meritorious service for 30 years. Currently he has been active in his profession as the founder chairman of K&K Enterprises General Trading Company, Sharjah. He has also been serving as president of a number of educational and social service organizations in Karnataka and elsewhere.

Even when being in foreign soil, he always throbs to the needs of India, particularly his hometown, Bhatkal. He has organized a number of programmes in the town to strengthen harmony between Hindus and Muslims. He always keeps thinking about ways and means to relieve the youngsters from worries about unemployment problem, and towards this end, has been planning an industrial revolution in his native place. In his addresses, he has been expressing about the need of medical education here, and the need to establish a good hospital. This worthy son of Nawayat community has won several awards and honours and they come seeking him. He is the recipient of prestgious ‘Rajyostava Awad’ of Karnataka government, honorary doctorate of Aldersgate College, Ireland, and countless felicitations and honours, all of which go to showcase his imposing achievements and exemplary personality.

Syed Khaleel is credited for being one of the first few chartered accountants from the town. Besides being known for his expertise as an expert in finances, he also is a popular leader in social service, religious, and educational circles. He has served as president of well-known organizations from here like Anjuman educational institutions, Rabita Society etc. Khaleel has won over unbridled love and respect of people from all the communities. He encourages total support for the education of girls and has built mammoth educational institutions. A number of influential political leaders, social and religious heads are in the circles that are close to Syed Khaleel.

In the past too Khaleelurrahman has been conferred with a number of honours and rewards.

Turkey-Syria earthquake: Indian-origin businessman/philanthropist Dr.Shamsheer Vayalil donates Rs 11 crore for victims

The United Arab Emirates-based entrepreneur/ philanthropist who hails from Kerala donated Rs 11 crore to help relocate the victims of the earthquake that hit Turkiye and Syria last week, killing tens of thousands.

Indian-origin businessman Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, who is the founder and chairman of Burjeel Holdings, has donated Rs 11 crore as an aid for the victims of the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, killing tens of thousands last week.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based entrepreneur/ philanthropist who hails from Kerala donated Rs 11 crore to help relocate the quake victims. The fund will be used to relocate those who have lost their homes and rehabilitate victims and families, the VPS Group, owned by Shamsheer Vayalil, informed.

Vayalil has said that the amount has already been handed over to the Emirates Red Crescent, which is carrying out relief efforts in the region.

“The fund will be used to support rescue efforts by providing medicine and other supplies, relocating those who have lost their homes, and rehabilitating victims and their families,” the VPS group, which owns the super-speciality VPS Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi, said in a release.

“This donation is part of our ongoing efforts to provide assistance to the relief work. My heart goes out to all affected by the devastating earthquake, and I hope this contribution will support their needs,” Vayalil said.

Thousands were displaced after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the region on February 6, killing more than 34,000 people.

Shamsheer Vayalil contributes AED1 Million to 1Billion Meals Initiative

 Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and Managing Director of VPS Healthcare Group, has announced a donation of AED1 million to the 1 Billion Meals initiative, the largest of its kind in the region, which aims to assist and provide sustainable food support to the underprivileged and most needy groups in 50 countries in the Middle East, North Africa and the world – in particular children, refugees, displaced persons, and victims of disasters and crises.

The 1 Billion Meals initiative, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), provides food support in coordination with the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP), the Food Banking Regional Network (FBRN), the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment (MBRCH), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UAE Food Bank, as well as a number of local charity and humanitarian organisations in beneficiary countries.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil said: “We are honoured to contribute to the 1 Billion Meals initiative organised by MBRGI to provide aid and relief to those undernourished, which supports the global battle against hunger and represents the values of the UAE and its wise leadership in giving and expanding the scope of humanitarian work. This is especially true given the escalation of the global hunger crisis and the increase in the number of people affected by it, especially children, refugees, displaced persons, and victims of disasters and crises.”

The initiative, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), is a continuation of last year’s 100 Million Meals campaign, which ended up distributing 220 million meals, prompting the new goal of one billion meals.

Donors can contribute to the 1 Billion Meals initiative through the following donation channels – the campaign’s official website: www.1billionmeals.ae; bank transfer to the campaign’s account at Emirates NBD, number: AE300260001015333439802.

Donors can also opt to donate AED1 a day through a monthly subscription by sending “Meal” or “وجبة” via SMS to 1020 on the du network or 1110 on the Etisalat network.

A non-resident Indian healthcare entrepreneur based in the United Arab Emirates on Monday announced a Rs one crore cash reward for the Indian men’s hockey team goalkeeper P R Sreejesh.

The announcement by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil comes days after the Indian men’s team won the bronze medal at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics.

Sreejesh, who belongs to Kerala, pulled off a series of stunning saves to help the country win its first Olympic medal in hockey after 41 years.

“Through his outstanding performance at the Olympics, Sreejesh has brought joy to Indians around the world. As a fellow Malayali, I take tremendous pride in his achievement,” Vayalil, Chairman and Managing Director of VPS Healthcare, was quoted as saying in a media release.

Vayalil also called Sreejesh to congratulate him for his exemplary performance.

Dr. Shamsheer has congratulated the entire team for this great achievement and offered his support to us. The announcement of the Rs. 1 crore reward caught me by surprise. A reward for winning a medal in the Olympics is delightful news and I feel very fortunate to be the recipient, said Sreejesh.

Over the last two decades, Sreejesh has carved a niche for himself in the field of hockey. Entering the junior national hockey team in the early 2000s, Sreejesh worked hard to make his way to the national team.

He also served as the captain of the national team in 2016. His quick reflexes and consistent performance have earned him the moniker The Great Wall of India’.

Sreejesh, who returns to India on Monday after the successful Tokyo campaign, will be presented with the cash prize at a special function in Kochi.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and Managing Director of VPS Healthcare, donated AED1 million to the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign, the first humanitarian campaign of its kind in the Arab world to provide food parcels for disadvantaged individuals and families across 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and South America this Ramadan.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil’s contribution is part of the large response from companies, businessmen and community members in the UAE and abroad in support of the campaign, which was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Given the influx of donations, from philanthropist individuals and companies, the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign fully achieved its goal of 100 million meals within 10 days of its launch.
