Shaikh Tanveer Asif, a 2017 IAS batch, took charge as the new Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) from outgoing Commissioner Ashaad Ur Rahman Shariff here on Monday.
Mr. Asif was earlier serving as the chief executive officer of the Mandya Zilla Panchayat.
Mr. Asif expressed his happiness about getting an opportunity to work in Mysuru. He said that he would focus on improving the city’s infrastructure and civic facilities. Priority will be given to solid waste management, especially considering the city’s previous reputation in this area.
The new Commissioner also said that he would make efforts to restore the city’s reputation as the cleanest city, working towards the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
