The South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association (SKMWA) held its 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 3 January 2024 at Hyderabad Palace Restaurant. During the meeting, Imran Ahmed Bava was elected as the new President of the association.

The event, hosted by Vice President Imran Bawa, began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Ramzil Kausary, followed by a welcome note from outgoing Vice President Rizwan Ahmed. General Secretary Abdulhameed Rasheed Kakinje presented the Annual Report, highlighting the association’s activities and achievements over the past year. Treasurer Mohammed Faisal Sheikh shared the Financial Report, providing a transparent account of the organisation’s financial status.

Outgoing President Suhaib Ahmed addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the members’ support during his tenure. He concluded his address with a vote of thanks, officially dissolving the outgoing committee.

The newly elected SKMWA Executive Committee was announced as follows:

– Joint Secretary: Saleem Ali Ullal
– Treasurer: Ahmed Shamsheer Mohammed

– Sports Secretary: Ameer Hamza
– Joint Sports Secretaries: Ahmed Irfan and Mohammed Shameer Punjalkatte
– Cultural Secretary: Sabeel Abdul Rehman
– Event Secretaries: Saleem Ullal, Imthiyaz Abdul Razak, and Elyas Muriyala
– Event Coordinators: Mahammad Noushik, Abdul Rasheed BC Road, Ramzil Kousary, Abu, and Irfan Punjalkatte.

In his address, President Imran Ahmed Bava congratulated the outgoing team for their dedication and contributions to the association. He expressed gratitude to the committee members for their support and pledged to continue working towards the association’s mission of community welfare and development.
